Crockford Construction is a Newport, Rhode Island–based general contractor specializing in high-end custom homes and residential renovations. Cam Crockford

Founder & Principal

After growing up on Aquidneck Island, founder Cam Crockford spent a decade in New York City, where he established Cam Crockford Studio, a design and fabrication studio located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Working alongside some of the country's most respected architecture and interior design firms, Cam developed and fabricated custom furnishings and architectural elements for discerning clients and their homes. His work required an exacting understanding of materials, proportion, fabrication, and finish—and an ability to collaborate closely with some of the industry's most demanding design teams.

As a trained metalworker and craftsman, Cam's work gradually expanded beyond individual furnishings and into the broader design and construction of the homes themselves. Nearly a decade spent working at the intersection of design and fabrication developed a lasting appreciation for thoughtful detailing, precise execution, and the importance of getting the small things right.

In 2018, Cam returned to Newport and began developing residential projects, bringing his design and fabrication experience together with a highly skilled carpentry team. What began as a natural extension of his work in the studio became the foundation for Crockford Construction.

Today, Crockford Construction brings that same level of care to every project. We believe quality is found in the details—from the materials selected to the way they are joined, finished, and ultimately experienced. Our role is not simply to build, but to help realize the intent behind the design and deliver a home that is considered, enduring, and built to last.
